Door hardening · Ontario

The front door stops being the easy way in.

Most forced entries are a kick to the door. We reinforce the frame, strike and hinges with steel and long screws into the studs, and upgrade the lock, so the door holds when it's hit.

Door hardening questions

Straight answers.

Do I need a new door?

Usually not. Most doors fail at the frame and the strike, not the slab. Reinforcing those with steel is what stops a kick-in.

Will it change how my door looks?

The reinforcement sits inside the frame and behind the trim. From the outside you see a better lock and nothing else.

How long does it take?

Door hardening is typically completed in a single visit.

What does it cost?

It depends on how many openings you protect and what you choose. After the free in-home assessment you get a fixed, written quote. No surprises, no pressure.

Is the assessment really free?

Yes. We come out, measure every opening, walk the property with you and tell you what we would do first. There is no obligation.

Roller shutters or window film: which do I need?

Shutters are the strongest option and a visible deterrent. Film keeps the look of the home and stops the quick smash-and-grab. Many homes do both: shutters on the vulnerable ground-floor and rear openings, film everywhere else. We tell you what makes sense at the assessment.

Layer it

Most homes combine two of the three.

Shutters where the risk is highest, film where the glass has to stay as it is, and a door that holds. We'll tell you the right mix at the assessment.
